Notice of Practice Closure 

The Practice of Dr Mark Mathieson at Sterling Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, PA is announcing its closure as of February 29, 2024. I will be able to care for my present patients until that date. 

It is important that you continue with appropriate medical care; therefore, you should establish contact with another physician as soon as possible.

To help you find another doctor, the following information will be available  to download from included PDF on this site :

1. A comprehensive list of Plastic Surgeons in the Sarasota and Manatee County area for you to contact. Most of them are Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. 

2. A copy of an authorization form is necessary to release a copy of your medical records to you and your new physician. Please complete the form and return it to the included email address drmark@drmarkmathieson.com . On receipt of this signed form, my office will forward a copy of your medical record to you or the physician you designate. We will try to provide a smooth transition of the records to your next provider. We can be reached at 941-918-8330 until the office officially closes. Please use the above email address to reach us as well.

You may also contact your primary care physician, and or your health care insurer for a referral within your network. 

In addition, most of your surgical and operative records are also available at the hospital where you may have had your surgery performed. This will also be helpful to you. The hospital medical records department will be able to help you as well. 

After the close of my practice, signed requests for copies of medical records can be directed to the email provided.   drmark@drmarkmathieson.com

If you have not selected a new physician by the time the practice closes, you can obtain acute, critical, or emergency care at the local emergency room or hospital you choose. 

Lastly, I would like to thank you for the trust you have given me over the years as your physician. Taking care of you has been an honor for my staff and me. Your continuing wellness and health are priorities for us.
